The 6 Best Whole-Body Deodorants in 2025

As promised, here’s my honest expert review on the best whole-body deodorant for your butt, groin, and other sweaty areas.

Check out..

Now, if you are new to this side of the beauty isle, you may have a few questions.

What is Whole Body Deodorant?

It is a gentler, safer version of normal deodorants made to prevent, neutralize, and mask body odor on every sweaty part of your body, not just the armpits. Whole body deos lack harsh ingredients like aluminum and baking soda and they also don’t have the antiperspirant properties that keep sweat at bay.

For this reason, I recommend them for everywhere else except your armpits. Armpits have stronger odor and more sweat so they need something a little more potent. That said, a few whole body deodorants like the Lume range work exceptionally well on armpits as well.

Is Whole Body Deodorant Safe?

Most people who ask this want to know, is whole body deodorant safe for private parts?

Yes and No, depending on how you use them. You should not apply anything on your lady parts, no matter how safe the product claims to be. When the packaging on whole body deos say “for private parts”, they mean the butt area and upper groin. This is why I would never recommend spray deodorants down there because they will get into the vagina one way or the other.

Similarly, you shouldn’t apply the deodorant on any wounded, raw, or cut skin. These products are for external skin only, provided it’s in perfect condition. That said, whole body deodorant is safe for every other part of your body and most are made for sensitive skin.

Now let’s dive into my favorite whole body deodorants for private areas, underboobs, underbelly, thighs, and behind the knees. All these areas are different and therefore have different needs.

Best Whole Body Deodorant for Women

1.       Lume Whole Body Deodorant Cream

$20 on Amazon

Lume whole body deodorants- whether cream or stick are by far the most effective and long-lasting deos in the world, lasting up to 72 hours. Lume is also the brand that started this whole body deodorant shebang and they have been leading from the front, thanks to the founder cum OB/GYN Shannon Klingman.

What I love most about the Lume whole body deodorant cream specifically is that it’s invisible and applies like lotion. It’s also formulated for sensitive skin and you can pick from seven scents and a fragrance-free one.

I have to say though that it doesn’t smell so good initially. The smell does wear off in about two minutes as the cream absorbs and the nice fragrance is left. I recommend this for any part including your butt, armpits, and underboobs because it’s strong enough against odor and yet so gentle and invisible on your skin.

2.       Dove Whole Body Deo

$11 at Amazon

You know what I love about Dove products? The scents. Everything from Dove smells heavenly and this whole body deo is no exception with its coconut and vanilla infusion. Like Lume, this product is OB/GYN tested to ensure it’s safe for your sensitive areas and the cream absorbs nicely into your skin.

Dove also excels in making moisturizing products and the whole body deo is leading with skin hydrating properties like glycerin, vitamin B3 and E, as well as lactic acid for that gentle exfoliation. The only downside to it is that you need to press the tube gently because it tends to come out a lot.

Best Whole Body Deodorant for Men

3.       Dove Men+Care Whole Body Deo

$10 at Amazon

I wrote this post for my home girls but if you want to pick one for your man, I recommend this Dove Men+Care Whole Body Deo. It’s a really long-lasting formula that’s quick to dry, clear, and leaves no sticky residue. I like the smell on men and it leaves their groin or underbutt area dry and smelling fresh. It’s also really nice for their balls and you can get it in cream form too.

4.       Mando Whole Body Deodorant For Men

$33 on Amazon

Now, if you want something a little more sophisticated and manly, the Mando Whole Body Deodorant for Men is the boss. It is high-performance (lasts up to 72 hours), gentle, and smells amazing. And guess what, Mando is the brother company to Lume so you can expect all the good things.

Best Whole Body Deodorant for Butt and Privates

5.       Sweet Cheeks Full Body Deodorant

$17 on Amazon

If I had to pick only one full body deodorant, it would be this Sweet Cheeks pineapple deo especially for my downstairs area. I saw it first on a Mckenna Walker YouTube video and got hooked. I swipe it on my butt cheeks after a shower and it keeps my butt smelling like pineapples all day long. Unlike the Lume and Deo creams, Sweet Cheeks leaves the surface dry but not whitish and I prefer that over the moist feel on my ass.

I’ve not tried its effectiveness on armpits but I highly recommend for butt area, underboobs, and thighs because it keeps you dry and smelling really nice. They come in pineapple, watermelon and peach scents and it’s so easy to apply.

6.       Hume Supernatural Invisible Whole Body Deodorant

$18 on Amazon

Hume has a range of whole body deodorants in cream, stick, and spray versions. This one is a cream or rather a balm that’s thick in texture and glides nicely on your skin. Though it’s invisible, the thick consistency still gives you that luxurious feel and prevents chaffing. It is therefore great for thighs and anywhere you experience friction. And guess what, it has antiperspirant properties too to keep you dry yet moisturized.

The only reason I like it for butt area and groin is because it’s very effective and smells heavenly. I prefer the stick version though which is much cheaper anyway.

Try a Whole Body Deodorant

As a beauty retailer and enthusiast, I keep experimenting with products and testing PR gifts. That means I’ll probably have a new list of best whole body deodorants next year. That said, I will stand by my word that Lume and Sweet Cheeks whole body deos are the OG. You cannot beat how effective these two brands are so if you are starting this whole body deodorant journey, I recommend you start there.

Until next time, STAY FRESH.
